Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Discharged from Hospital in Lagos Following Deadly Road Accident

Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, Nigerian authorities confirmed on late Wednesday. The athlete was involved in a car accident in the Lagos area on Monday, a tragic incident that took the lives of two of his close associates.

Under Observation for Minor Injuries

The sports star had been under observation while recovering from minor injuries, his promoter confirmed on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post on X that Joshua was judged healthy enough to “recuperate at home”.

“The boxer and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two deceased friends as they were being prepared for repatriation,” the official remarked.

A Tribute to the Fallen

Those who lost their lives were identified as Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. The official further stated that the champion was filled with sorrow and full of emotions over the loss of his two close friends.”

This update on his health arrives after the sports world shared condolences for the champion in the wake of the terrible crash.
