The UK and France have inked a statement of purpose concerning the deployment of troops in the nation should a peace agreement be concluded with Russia, the UK Prime Minister, Starmer, has stated.
Subsequent to discussions with allied nations in Paris, he indicated that the UK and France would "create defense centers throughout Ukraine and construct fortified structures for arms and military equipment" to deter any subsequent incursion.
The allied nations also proposed that the US would take the lead in monitoring a truce.
The Kremlin has on multiple occasions cautioned that any external forces in Ukraine would be considered a "valid objective", but has so far not issued a statement on this latest announcement.
Russian President Vladimir Putin launched a major offensive of Ukraine in early 2022, and Russian forces at this time controls roughly 20% of Ukraine's sovereign soil.
"This is a vital part of our commitment to be alongside Ukraine for the long-term," commented the British leader.
Top officials and senior officials from the "Partner Group" participated in Tuesday's talks.

The British leader also stated that London would be involved in any US-led monitoring of a potential truce.
Lead US negotiator Steve Witkoff stated that "durable security guarantees and robust prosperity commitments are vital to a permanent resolution" in Ukraine – referring to a key condition made by the Ukrainian government.
The negotiator noted the allies had "largely finished" their work on finalizing such pledges "in order that the Ukrainian people know that when this conflict ends, it ends permanently."
Donald Trump's son-in-law, ex-President Donald Trump's representative, also participated in the negotiations.
Separately, French President Emmanuel Macron stated that Ukraine's supporters had made "major headway" at the talks.
He noted that "comprehensive" defense assurances for Ukraine had been settled upon in the instance of a potential truce.
Ukraine's leader Volodymyr Zelensky commented that a "huge step forward" had been made in the talks, but qualified that he would only deem efforts to be "adequate" if they led to the end of the war.
Recently, the Ukrainian leader suggested a peace deal was "largely prepared". Finalizing the outstanding 10% would "decide the fate of the agreement, the destiny of Ukraine and Europe".
Russian forces presently holds approximately 75% of the Donetsk region and around 99% of the neighbouring Luhansk region. The two regions form the area of the Donbas.
