The rising star has considerable social media audience
Kai Trump can count on multiple well-known cheerleaders as she makes her first LPGA appearance later this week.
The 18-year-old athlete, who happens to be related to Donald Trump, obtained a sponsor's invitation to participate at the Annika tournament in the Sunshine State.
Her grandfather, a passionate golfer, owns numerous international courses and frequently matches against his granddaughter.
"He's pretty good. I shouldn't elaborate but we have tight competitions," she revealed.
The golfer shared that Trump, who cannot attend, advised her: "Just avoid anxiety."
"He basically told me to compete and enjoy myself," she continued.
"From my perspective, he's just an ordinary family member. He can't make it this weekend. He's focused on world affairs, making him quite busy."
As an amateur, the golfer has participated in a mere three competitions this year and holds the 461st position in the American Junior Golf Association rankings.
But she's able to seek guidance from golf legend, who is dating Vanessa.
"He is the best player worldwide," Kai expressed.
"Additionally, he's a more impressive individual. He told me to go out there, enjoy myself, adapting to whatever happens."
She'll challenge multiple top competitors in professional golf at this tournament, including world number two Nelly Korda, England's golfer Hull, professional Thompson and last year's winner champion Vu.
Officials stated that involving Kai brings the sport to wider groups, especially reaching younger fans.
The social media influencer maintains millions of followers and recently launched an exclusive fashion and living company.
The competition starts at 5:30 PM GMT.
