The German coach, who departed from Liverpool in 2024, has suggested that a future comeback is something that could happen. The 58-year-old, after a transformative nine-season tenure that included continental glory and the Premier League crown in 30 years, currently occupies roles in a global football capacity for Red Bull and as an advisor with the German Football League.
They secured the league title last season, yet numerous supporters who adore the manager would welcome the notion that he may eventually return. During an extensive chat, he explained to Steven Bartlett: âI stated I will never coach a different club on English soil. So that means in case it's my former club...absolutely. In theory, it could happen.â
âAt 58 years old, so I might decide down the line, it's uncertain. Is a decision required immediately? In that case, I'd stay away. But thank God, I donât have to do that. I'll wait and observe what the future brings.â
Questioned regarding the specific conditions must arise to draw him back to the dugout, he revealed he was not instantly drawn for a comeback. âI'm not entirely sure, My present work fulfills me,â he said. âNo longing for management; I avoid standing during downpours through long matches; I'm glad to skip media briefings four times, three times a week or doing numerous chats a week.
âNo nostalgia for the changing area as a dressing room, but sitting in a restaurant with the players talking freely, is pleasant. With many victories thus frequently great spirits at the club. I can still hear Van Dijk's laughter in my ear for example.â
Klopp was full of praise of the current boss, crediting him due to the changes that took the title last term. Liverpool have lost four in a row in every contest post heavy investment, though he denied the suggestion it could be the start of a downward turn.
â[Liverpool have] an incredible striker such as Wirtz, doubters will be silenced with negative comments. An outstanding player. The French striker, superb talent. Itâs a really good balanced team. You donât have to worry over the club, things will improve.â
He shared movingly regarding the passing of Diogo Jota, whom he brought in during his tenure, and the effect for the team. Jota died tragically in a car crash alongside his brother recently.
âWho can fill the void of such an individual? This isn't just regarding his footballing ability, his personality mattered. I struggle to conceive the dressing room absent his presence. I still cannot speak properly about it. A profound tragedy for the entire squad as well. No one within the club will ever use it for poor performances but it is the situation. You walk in a dressing room where his spirit remains. Coping with it individually is challenging. Impossible.â
