Reigning Aryna Sabalenka Claims Consecutive WTA Player of the Year Accolades.

The tennis star in action
The Belarusian player concluded the year with an outstanding 23-3 Grand Slam win-loss record.

World number one Aryna Sabalenka has been voted the Women's Tennis Association top performer of the year for a second consecutive season.

The 27-year-old secured four tournament victories – the highest tally on the circuit – which included successfully defending the US Open in September against Amanda Anisimova to earn her fourth Grand Slam singles triumph.

A Season of Dominance

Over the course of the tour, Sabalenka played in a tour-best nine championship matches, with losses coming against Madison Keys in the Australian Open final in January and Coco Gauff in June's French Open final.

The star player also won the Brisbane International in January, the Miami Open during the spring, and the Madrid Open as the clay season progressed. She spent the whole season as the top-ranked player, finishing 2025 atop the rankings for a second successive year.

In July, she became the first athlete to top 12,000 WTA ranking points after Serena Williams did so nearly a decade ago.

Record-Breaking Achievements

Sabalenka finished the season with a sixty-three to twelve match record, and collected a record £11m in earnings.

She garnered nearly eighty percent of the votes submitted by international tennis media.

Later this month, she is set to play 2022 Wimbledon finalist Nick Kyrgios in a high-profile mixed-gender exhibition match in a bid to "elevate women's tennis to a greater prominence".
