The defender Pushed up the pitch on the ball, a familiar role previously. On occasion was too casual on the ball and the approach abandoned after the break. 6/10

Dan Burn A nuisance at set pieces, per usual, could serve as a replacement to his teammate in the backline as opposed to alongside him. One wayward ball in the second half nearly resulted in the first goal from Albania. 6/10

The young full-back Another assured display by the rising star following his debut versus another side. A teammate failed to make full advantage of an exquisite backheel behind the opposing backline. The role is his to lose at this stage. 7/10

Adam Wharton A debut start with the national team. A bit sloppy in possession but his dangerous corners posed a danger. A useful tempo-setter available to the manager to utilize against teams who drop deep. Cautioned for a rash challenge. 6

The midfielder Deliveries from corners and free-kicks were dangerous. Had room to roam down the left flank yet found himself offside upon receiving in shooting positions. Granted a well-earned rest around the 60-minute point. Six

Jude Bellingham Operated in a forward position on the right and also did plenty of the hard yards. Demonstrated flashes of quality but scuffed a shot wide. Substituted late on for Rogers, his rival, after being booked. 7

The winger Had England’s best chance before halftime, his strike well saved by Thomas Strakosha. As a teammate hanging back, it fell to him to provide width down the right side but his crosses from the touchline were hit and miss. Replaced late in the match. 6

The captain The difference-maker netting two more finishes for his country. The first a trademark close-range tap-in while the second an excellent finish with his head following a clever run away from the opposition. Aged 32, he’s only getting better and the side are strong contenders in future competitions when he's in the team. 8

Eberechi Eze Found it tough to make an impact on the left flank. Had a good opening following a pass by Bellingham but the keeper made the save. His replacement had a greater influence after coming on. 5
