JuJutsu Kaisen: Execution Aims to Address the Anime's Most Significant Issue

JuJutsu Kaisen: Execution is not precisely an original film. Rather, the latest movie from the Jujutsu Kaisen supernatural series acts as a recap of the anime's second season merged with the first two episodes of its upcoming season, which kicks off the Culling Games narrative from the original manga. This establishes Execution, which just got a latest teaser, the first way to see the start of the next season ahead of its January 2026 premiere. The movie premieres in Japan on Nov. 7, and in the United States and Canada on December 5.

The Culling Games Plot

In the Culling Games plot, Elite sorcerer Yuta Okkotsu is introduced in the show and is charged by sorcery authorities to take down his fellow student Yuji Itadori. Their much-anticipated fight takes place for the very first time on the silver screen, and if the artists at Mappa have an exceptional piece as installments 40 and 41 waiting in the wings for fans this holiday season, JuJutsu Kaisen: Execution may prove to be the gift that fans have anticipated.

The "Thunderclap" Controversy

"Thunderclap episodes" from season 2 is widely regarded as among the best moments in animated series lore, despite all the controversy in the previous year when the episodes first debuted. It was reported that the animation team were facing harsh deadlines to the degree, and the broadcast edition that premiered at the time was not fully polished and allegedly not what the artists originally planned.

The Epic Battle

The scene features a long-awaited battle between two strong jujutsu users, the King of Curses and the Eight-Handled Sword. The second installment of JuJutsu Kaisen elevated the franchise to become the top anime of the year, and when the Thunderclap episodes were aired consecutively, it was the subject of discussion for multiple weeks in the series' fanbase. Audiences knew about the problems with the production, which made them admire what they saw even more. People eagerly awaited to see if the disc version, launched in mid-March, would feature extra content to the sequence or to see if it was refined somewhat, and were overjoyed to see precisely that, alongside tone adjustments, more motion, and different color grading.
