Jet Carrying Pete Hegseth Required to Land in UK Because of Fracture in Windshield

A jet ferrying the US defense secretary was forced to make an emergency landing in the UK on Wednesday following a fracture was discovered in the aircraft's cockpit window, per an announcement which verified that Hegseth was safe.

"The aircraft landed following established safety measures and everyone onboard, among them Defense Secretary Hegseth, is secure," an official representative stated in a social media post.

He was traveling back from a short visit to the Belgian capital at the time.

This event isn't the initial instance that a American defense plane carrying a top government figure has encountered mechanical issues.

In a previous incident this year, a American military jet carrying the US Secretary of State to Munich was compelled to turn back to Washington after encountering a technical issue.
