Iran Reports Attack on US Base in Bahrain, During Regional Retaliatory Strikes.

Tehran reports attacking a US naval base in Manama, as Iran launched missile attacks throughout the Middle East in response for a large-scale and ongoing assault against it by the United States and Israeli forces.

Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an zone close to the headquarters of the American Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The scope of any damage is uncertain and the US has not commented.

Airspace Engagements

Elsewhere across the region, the UAE, Qatar and the State of Kuwait - which all house American military installations - stated they have shot down missiles in their territorial skies.

In the Qatari capital, Qatar's defence ministry announced it had successfully engaged a number of projectiles apparently targeting the al-Udeid air base, the largest American base in the Middle East.

Operation "Truthful Promise 4"

Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated it was attacking American facilities and interests as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the attack on the Islamic Republic initiated by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday.

That preceding assault - launched at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far targeted locations linked to the Tehran's leadership, with President Trump calling on the people of Iran to revolt against the regime.

Additional Developments

In the State of Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israeli military stated it had detected an incoming Iranian missile barrage.

The defence ministry of the United Arab Emirates said in a statement that the country has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"Emirati air defenses responded to the missiles with notable success and shot down a series of missiles," the statement continued.

It said wreckage fell on a populated district in the capital, resulting in some material damage and the death of one civilian.

The US Air Force is stationed at the Al Dhafra base, south of Abu Dhabi, along with the Emirati Air Force.
