The Miami Heat scored eighty-six opening half scores versus the Memphis Grizzlies

NBA Commissioner Silver 'Upset' by Arrests

Speaking about the detentions for the first time, NBA commissioner Adam Silver said he was "deeply disturbed" by the incidents of the recent days.

"Nothing is more critical to the NBA and supporters than the fairness of the game," he informed a broadcaster. "Therefore I had a pit in my stomach. It was disturbing."

Silver further said an NBA investigation into the player's actions in March 2023, when there was "unusual wagering" in a game he participated for the Charlotte Hornets against the New Orleans Pelicans, found nothing untoward.

"It was brought to our attention by the regulators and the betting companies," he continued.

"We then looked into the matter and were open regarding it. Although there was that aberrational betting, we, frankly, found no evidence.

"Federal authorities has legal authority... [it] can threaten to put people in jail, can take various actions that the NBA is unable to.

"So, we've been cooperating since then. Naturally, what they announced yesterday was an indictment.

"Moreover 30 months later, he has not been found guilty of anything, in fairness to Rozier.

"Obviously, it appears unfavorable, but he's been put on administrative leave, and so it is a compromise here between upholding rights and investigating."
