Prolific young adult author and TV personality David Walliams has been dropped by his UK book publisher, the company has said.
A spokesman for the publisher stated: "After careful consideration, and under the leadership of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing future works by David Walliams."
It has been reported that the decision was made after an inquiry regarding claims about questionable actions towards female individuals.
The publisher did not confirm the reasons for its decision, adding: "We refrain from speaking about internal matters."
Walliams is one of the UK's most successful children's authors, having sold in excess of 60 million copies worldwide in dozens of tongues.
His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins back in 2008.
A number of his works, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into small-screen adaptations.
His bibliography includes more than 40 books altogether, including a Christmas book called *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins in October.
He first rose to fame on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He was awarded an OBE in 2017 honoring his contributions to the charitable sector and arts community.
This move occurs subsequent to the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive in October.
