Canada's Blue Jays Secure World Series Meeting Against defending champion Dodgers

Canada's MLB team reached their initial championship series after 1993 by beating the Seattle Mariners in the seventh game seven of the AL Championship Series.

Down 3-1, Springer delivered a three-run home run in the seventh inning, leading the Toronto squad in the majors to a 4-3 victory in the best-of-seven series. Next up are the Los Angeles Dodgers, who are the current crown, in the anticipated Fall Classic.

"I'm just so happy for this squad, the city, Canada," Springer stated, a key player of the Astros team that won the 2017 title. "What an unbelievable moment."

George Springer has now slugged twenty-three October home runs, placing him third all-time behind Manny Ramirez (29) and Jose Altuve (27).

"It's hard to imagine another player in the world that I want up in that spot other than George Springer with his post-season brilliance," said manager John Schneider.

Seattle's team, after leading the series two games to none and three games to two, are still the only MLB franchise yet to make an appearance in a Fall Classic.

Wilson commented "without a doubt that it hurts" following his side's defeat at Rogers Centre, but applauded their performance this season.

"This is a unique group. Unfortunately that we ended up on the losing end of the series," he added.

Toronto won the championship on each of their earlier trips in 1992 and '93, and will welcome the Dodgers in the first game on this Friday.
